Core Competencies of Success
On the 10th of May 2008, G. Institute of Real Estate conducted a self motivation course as its CPD programme for real estate agents. The speaker of the seminar was Ms Seetha Nesaratnam, a Trainer from the prestigeous Dale Carnegie Training centre, who has specialised in the area of breakthrough communications and leadership. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Law from the University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business And Management and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the James Cook University of Australia.
The topic of the CPD was on the Core Competencies of Success, the aim of the CPD being to motivate the participants to success, to build self courage and to be confident in all dealings and communications with others. The finer points in developing good human relation skills and become a more goal orientated person, full of confidence and able to clearly put one’s ideas across was demostrated.
During the seminar, participants were taught how to look at themselves and to have a clearer vision of the person they want to be. Through the “wheel of life”, participants were made to be aware of their “defining” moments as well as to identify their strength and weeknesses, so as to be able to deal with the problems of the future. Most importantly participants were thought the 10 fundamental principals in dealing with people, principles that will help to strengthen relationships and build trust as well as to earn the respect of the people that they would come into contact with.

PROPERTY AND PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY INSURANCE
On the 22nd of March 2008 , G institute had the pleasure of having Mrs Charan Kaur to conduct the seminar on Property and Professional Indemnity Insurance. Mrs Charan Kaur is the Business Services Support Manager of QBE-MBF Insurance (M) Bhd, a joint company of two major insurance companies in Malaysia.
Mrs Charan Kaur started the session by outlining the need for insurance coverage, the different types of insurance coverage to suit the different types of businesses as well as the types of protection that is being offered for the protection of the property/businesses against any unexpected perils and losses due to human or natural causes. She further explained the need to have or not to have extensions for their insurance policy and how to ascertain whether the extension is needed or not needed.
On the subject of indemnity insurance, Mrs Charan Kaur explained the role/requirements of the insured in the event of a loss. She also explain the role of the insurance adjustor and the mindset, the way that the adjustor would think before coming to his conclusion.
During questions and answer, probable examination questions were discussed and explained. Lunch was served at 12.30PM.

MANAGING A SUCCESSFUL ESTATE AGENCY
The principal of G Institute of Real Estate, Puan Khatijah Abdullah, conducted the seminar on Managing a Successful Estate Agency at the Sunway Hotel in Penang on 23rd February 2008. With 30 years experience in managing a real estate firm, she was suitably positioned to enhance and develop the estate agents' competence and skills in managing a real estate firm and to enphasize the need to understand the procedures and the processes of internal controls.
In the course of the seminar the concept and benefits of netwoking were clearly spelled out, the need and importance of listing control and the value of exclusive listing explained in detail and what common operating systems and documentations were needed to lead to managing a successful real estate agency.

UNDERSTANDING ISLAMIC BANKING
On the 5th of January 2008 , G institute had the pleasure of having En Ismail Aminuddin to explain the mechanism of Islamic Banking. En. Ismail Aminuddin have been in the banking business for over 29 years. He was directly involved in the setting-up of the Islamic Banking system in Hong Leong bank and in Asian Finance Bank. In November 2006 he became the Senior Vice President of the domestic banking business in charge of Corporate, Trade Finance & Consumer Banking Divisions in Asian Finance Bank.
En. Ismail Aminuddin is an active speaker on Islamic banking subjects at local and international levels. He is a Board member of the Post Graduate Programme for the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance and Chairman of the Examination Committee for Islamic certified Credit Professional, a specialist certification for Credit personnel offered by the Institute of Banking and Finance Institution Malaysia.

ENHANCING THINKING SKILLS
On the 15th of December 2007, G Institute had Mr. Loi Hui Kong to conduct a session on Creativity and Innovation. He explained to participants on how the mind works and how to pratice creativity in their daily work.
Mr. Loi is the Principal Learning Facilitator of Innovation and Creativity Skills Training Sdn. Bhd. He was with the Danish Cooperation for Environment and Development and the Building Consultant for the Krau Wildlife Project in Sarawak. he is presently the country's representative of Asianic Pschologist Press (Australia). He has conducted training for both the public and private sector, most notably to the centre of Modern Management (Sarawak), Public Bank, Maybank, Bank Negara, Shell Malaysia, Proton, The Star, UTAR, PNB, The Administrative Staff College of India, Institute Aminuddin Baki and University Malaysia.
